Pinnacle Sports Review

This review is from: www.sportsbookreview.com

SBR Rating:
Sportsbook Review Overall Rating: A+ Financial Rating: A+ | Customer Service: B+ | Software Rating: A+ | Bonus Rating: B-
Comments:
Pinnacle Sportsbook operates on the lowest bookmaking margins in the business, which means the best possible pricing for bettors. Those that understand how important the smallest edge is to successful sports investing understand that they cannot afford to pass on Pinnacle. The sportsbook has become somewhat of a high-volume, high-value sports betting warehouse.

When Pinnacle Sports, located in Curacao, Netherlands Antilles, came online in 1998, most bookmakers were battling for business using bonuses as their main weapon. Pinnacle’s quick-moving low juice lines educated players on the value of line shopping; and it wasn’t long before Pinnacle began taking business from the competition.

The growing customer base allowed Pinnacle more flexibility to safely book reduced juice at, what eventually became, the industry’s highest wagering limits. Pinnacle’s no-nonsense approach to bookmaking more closely resembled a stock trading website than the traditional online sportsbook. Pinnacle allowed the highest concentration of sharp players to shape its line, which in turn shaped the rest of the sports betting market. Today it is impossible to find an online bookmaker or a Las Vegas sportsbook that doesn’t pay attention to Pinnacle’s numbers. Pinnacle’s lines were so sharp that they became the first online sportsbook to move odds by pennies (odds changes equating to a fraction of what it would take to move the spread a half point). Pinnacle was able to reduce its margin even further on NFL spreads, cutting the cost from -105 to -104 style pricing.

Pinnacle’s website and betting screens are as sophisticated as its bookmaking style. Many books use the ASI software platform; however Pinnacle’s is almost unrecognizable due to in-house enhancements. Modifications include a proprietary spread drop down option that allows bettors to buy and sell points, and an account history option that is unmatched by the best online banking websites. Pinnacle took sports betting 101 a step further by offering dynamic lines, which lets players watch the odds move live with color changes without the need to refresh the browser.

Customer service is handled almost exclusively by email, allowing Pinnacle to keep their operating costs low. The company’s efficiency means some players can go years without ever having to contact client support. On the rare occasion there is a book error or player dispute, the customer is addressed promptly and courteously. Overall, Pinnacle is a great book for the moderate to larger size internet bettor looking for the best betting odds for both American and European sports.

5 Inspiring Athletes Who Overcame Disabilities

5 Inspiring Athletes Who Overcame Disabilities
    http://www.beliefnet.com

    Limitless Abilities

Many professional athletes entertain us with their strength and competitive spirit. Then, there are those who inspire us with their ability to overcome adversity. We are especially touched by those who are missing a limb, yet use everything else they have to become the best at what they do. Whether it’s grappling on the wrestling mat, crossing the finish line or riding the ocean waves, these five athletes are collectively the true picture of strength.

Written by Jennifer E. Jones, Inspiration Editor

    Bethany Hamilton

Raised by surfers in Hawaii, Bethany Hamilton was born to be in the water. A natural surfer, she began competing professionally as a young child. However, at 13, she lost her arm and nearly lost her life in a vicious shark attack. One month later she was back on her surfboard with a determined spirit and positive attitude. Two years later she won first place in the Explorer Women’s Division of the NSSA National Championships. Now, the professional surfer shares her inspirational message of hope with millions of people and her story has been made into an inspiring major motion picture, Soul Surfer, in theaters April 8, 2011, starring AnnaSophia Robb, Helen Hunt and Dennis Quaid.

    Jason Lester

When 12-year-old Jason Lester was hit by a car and suffered, among many things, a paralyzed arm, he could never have dreamed that decades later, he’d be a world-class endurance sports champion. Today, he can swim faster, ride further and run incredible distances as an Ironman and Ultraman, and he does it all without the full use of his right arm. In 2009, he was named the ESPY award winner for "Best Male Athlete with a Disability" and the first male triathlete to win such an honor. In addition to numerous championships, he’s also the author of Running on Faith, the autobiography that chronicles his rise to fame and how his belief in God got him there. His relentless message is summed up well when he wrote, “If you don’t stop, you can’t be stopped.”

    Melissa Stockwell

She is a war veteran with the U.S. Army, Purple Heart recipient, paralympian, paratriathlete and an above the knee amputee. In 2004, Melissa Stockwell lost her leg when a roadside bomb exploded during a convoy. A diver in high school, she began to swim at Walter Reed Hospital as part of her physical therapy. Eventually, she trained to compete in the 2008 Paralympic Games for the U.S. team in which she became the record holder for the 100 meter butterfly and the 100 meter freestyle. She gained national attention when she became the face of the Hartford U.S. Paralympics Partnership ad campaign. “I can really do anything I want to do, missing leg or not,” she says.

    Anthony Robles

Anthony Robles was born without a leg, but he didn’t let that stop him from becoming a national high school and college wrestling champion. He began his career on the mat in his high school. Although he tells the Wall Street Journal, his first match as a small 90-pound freshman was less than epic, he got better and then became the best. In March of 2011, the All-American Arizona State University student won the NCAA championship title for the 125-pound weight class division. While USA Today quotes the young athlete as starting his retirement from wrestling, he remains an inspiration to underdogs everywhere. He told the WSJ, "I didn't get into the sport for the attention. I wrestle because I love wrestling. But if I can help change somebody's life for the better…"

    Jim MacLaren

"Dead on arrival". That was the diagnosis when Jim MacLaren was rushed to Bellevue Hospital after being hit by a bus on his motorcycle. When he woke from his coma, he was missing his left leg below the knee. He’d previously been a Yale University lacrosse and football player, but after the accident, life as he knew it was full of questions. Undetered by his accident, he took up swimming and learned how to run on a prosthetic leg. He eventually competed in the New York City Marathon and the Ironman triathlon. Although he later suffered another accident that left him paralyzed, MacLaren turned his tragedy into triumph by becoming a motivational speaker and life coach encouraging others to live their life to the fullest no matter what it takes.

Rex Ryan says Mangold could play without practicing

Jets center Nick Mangold continues to miss practice after suffering a high ankle sprain on September 18.  On Thursday, however, coach Rex Ryan suggested that Mangold could still play on Sunday night against the Ravens.
“I’m encouraged that he’s getting better,” Ryan said of Mangold.  “Each day, he seems to be getting better.  He hasn’t practiced, but he definitely feels like he’s getting better.  The thing that’s encouraging about that is he’s doing some things, like stepping over deals, doing some change of direction things and some movement things where it’s not getting worse.  It’s actually feeling better the next day, so I’m encouraged by that.”
Ryan said that it’s not necessary that Mangold return to practice before playing.  “Guys, I’m not one of those ‘he has to practice’ guys,” Ryan said.  “We’re talking about Nick Mangold here, so, no.  He doesn’t have to practice.
Ryan said that, barring a setback, he’ll make a decision about Mangold’s availability on Sunday.

    10 Spiritual Lessons from NASCAR

    By Chad Hall
You don't have to be a fan of auto racing to know about NASCAR. What started as moonshiners tinkering with their stock cars so they could outrun the law is now the world's fastest-growing spectator sport. Today races are held throughout the U.S. as well as in Canada and Mexico, and most are televised to millions of viewers at home. It seems that a lot of people like to watch cars go fast!

However, NASCAR is not just an entertaining spectacle; it also provides good life lessons.

    1. Going in Circles Does Have Meaning

There's a joke among racing detractors that a race is just 40 cars each making a left turn, then another left turn, then another, then...well, you get the idea. But in NASCAR, each lap around the track counts for something and builds toward an eventual finale. Race fans notice the small changes and minor wins/losses with each lap. And drivers know that each lap is crucial because it determines the position for the next lap, and so on.

When we feel like each week is just like the last, we can lose sight of how our daily efforts lead us to the next thing, which will then lead us to the next thing, all accumulating into a life well lived. A circular life requires making the most of each moment because of how it fits into the larger scheme.

    2. Go Slow to Go Fast

At first glance, NASCAR seems to be all about speed, with cars frequently exceeding 200 mph. But what's often missed is the methodical effort that goes into traveling at such incredible speeds. Between races, shops are full of mechanics and engineers who do lots of testing, pore over data, make myriad calibrations, and then test the adjustments before doing it all over again. They take the slow time to get things just right, which results in a much faster car come race day.

It's helpful to remember the motto "go slow to go fast." When we're tempted to rush from one opportunity to the next, recalling our values, considering our life goals and prayerfully discerning direction can feel like moving in slow motion. But these practices enhance our progress through life because they enable us to make choices that stick and that reap long term rewards.
